Bangladesh has recorded three more child deaths linked to measles in a single day, with 93 new cases confirmed in the same period.
The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) regular bulletin on measles said on Wednesday that 93 people have died of confirmed cases of measles across the country since Mar 15.
In addition, 596 people with suspected measles cases have also died in that time.
Dhaka Division logged the highest number of symptomatic fatalities at 254.
The death toll across other regions stands at 88 in Rajshahi, 75 in Sylhet, 50 in Chattogram, 39 in Barishal, 55 in Mymensingh, 27 in Khulna, and eight in Rangpur.
According to the DGHS, a total of 996 people sought hospital care with measles symptoms over the latest 24-hour count, with 921 requiring admission.
Dhaka registered the highest caseload, with 433 symptomatic patients and 366 hospitalisations.
A total of 93 cases were confirmed by laboratory testing over this period.
The DGHS said the cumulative number of suspected measles cases in the country stands at 95,760, while confirmed cases total 11,390.
So far 75,882 symptomatic patients have been discharged after treatment.
