The Ministry of Education has appointed new chairmen to head four education boards.

Four teachers from the BCS General Education Cadre with the rank of professor have been appointed to the Jashore, Cumilla, Sylhet, and Dinajpur education boards.

The ministry’s Secondary and Higher Education Division issued a notice to the effect on Sunday.

Prof Asma Begum of Dhaka’s Government Titumir College has been appointed to head the Jashore Education Board, Sylhet Education Board Chairman Prof Md Shamsul Islam has been transferred to head the Cumilla Education Board, Moulvibazar Government College Vice Principal Md Anowar Hossain Chowdhury will head the Sylhet Education Board, and Prof Md Touhidul Islam from Chapainawabganj’s Nawabganj Government College will head the Dinajpur Education Board.

In a separate notice on Sunday, Jashore Education Board Chairman Khondker Kamal Hasan, Cumilla Education Board Chairman Md Nizamul Karim and Dinajpur Education Board Chairman SM Abdus Samad Azad were relieved of duty.
