Agriculture, Food, Fisheries and Livestock Minister Mohammad Amin Ur Rashid has announced plans to begin exporting agricultural products on an “industrial scale” within the next year.

He made the remark while exchanging greetings with senior officials at the Ministry of Agriculture on Thursday, according to a statement by the ministry.

Amin, serving as a technocrat, said: “Agriculture is the backbone of the country’s economy, employing a large part of the population.”

He outlined plans to reduce agricultural imports over the next year and boost exports, calling for everyone’s cooperation to strengthen the sector.
