The Bangladesh Embassy in Bahrain has announced a special window for expatriates who were unable to renew their visas on time because of the recent war situation in the West Asia.

The facility is strictly for those who have been stuck in Bangladesh since Feb 28 and failed to renew their permits because of flight cancellations or system failures caused by regional instability, the mission said in a notice on Thursday.

It said workers whose visas have already expired must apply to the embassy with the supporting documents.

Applicants have been advised not to visit the embassy in person and instead submit their applications by email.

The required paperwork includes copies of the applicant’s passport, visa, Central Population Registry (CPR), and flight tickets.

For those not registered under the Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA), a Commercial Registration (CR) copy is also mandatory.

Expatriates must provide an active mobile number from either Bangladesh or Bahrain when sending their scanned documents to the mission's official email address at [email protected].

The embassy said expatriates can contact its hotline at +973-38393012 for further details or assistance.

It, however, made clear that the facility will not apply to everyone.

Those whose visas were cancelled by sponsors or Kafeels before, during or after the conflict period, or whose visas were revoked over legal complications linked to CR documents, will not be eligible for the special arrangement.
