Mashrafe brand ambassador of T20 tournament for physically challenged

Bangladesh captain Mashrafe Bin Mortaza has become the brand ambassador of the first-ever international cricket tournament of the people with disabilities.

Afghanistan, Bangladesh, England, India and Pakistan will play in the T20 tournament, which will be open in Dhaka on Sep 2.

The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), which is hosting the novel event, said as the brand ambassador Mashrafe will endorse the ‘BCB Physically Challenged Cricket Team’ for the tournament.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is expected to kick off the tournament.

Bangladesh’s first internet newspaper bdnews24.com is the media partner of this event aimed to promote the social inclusion of the people living with disabilities.

Estimates suggest at least 10 percent of Bangladesh’s total population have disabilities in some form.

England will be the first team to arrive in Dhaka on Aug 28. All teams will stay at the BKSP in Savar.

The opening match will be held at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium while the other matches will be played at the BKSP.

The opener between Bangladesh and England is open for all, but the other matches can be watched from the stands “on request”.
