He has been banned for a match and slapped a fine of Tk 100,000, Bangladesh Cricket Board President Nazmul Hassan said on Wednesday.

Abahani, who still have a match to play in DPL, will have Tamim in their last match but the left-handed opener will have to sit out the first match of BCB's next tournament.

On Jun 12, the umpires went off the field in the face of loud swearing from the Abahani supporters in the Super League stage tie at BKSP-3.

Prime Doleshwar then refused to continue their chase for a revised target under the Duckworth-Lewis method, forcing the match to be suspended.

A week after the incident, the BCB formed a four-man probe committee and sought a report within 72 hours.

The committee comprised board's umpires committee chairman Nazmul Karim, disciplinary committee chairman Sheikh Sohel, technical committee member Athar Ali Khan and match referee Raqibul Hassan.

Tamim, however, had apologised a day after the incident for getting involved in a heated argument with the umpires during the match.

He had appealed to the authorities to get to the root of the problem.

Abahani (22) edged closer to the title with win over Prime Bank Cricket Club (14) on Wednesday. Tamim struck a scintillating 142, while spinner Saqlain Sajib bagged seven wicket for Abahani.

In the other match of the day, Prime Doleshwar (20) beat Legends of Rupganj to consolidate their place at second.
