Shimanto Bank has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA).

The agreement was signed at BIDA headquarters on Monday.

A statement from the bank says the agreement enables investors to access key banking facilities through Shimanto Bank via BIDA’s online One-Stop Service (OSS) portal, including the ability for foreign investors to open temporary bank accounts online.

The MoU was signed by Md Sahidul Islam, head of business of Shimanto Bank, and BIDA Director General Jibon Krishna Saha Roy.

The signing ceremony was presided over by BIDA Executive Member Air Commodore Md Shaharul Huda and attended by Bangladesh Bank Additional Director Md Shahinuzzaman, along with Manzur Maswood, IT chief at Shimanto Bank, and other senior officials from BIDA.

The bank said the collaboration underscores Shimanto Bank’s commitment to attracting foreign investment and streamlining banking services.
