A total of 565 students have collected nomination forms for 28 posts in the Dhaka University Central Students’ Union elections.

Of these, 442 students collected forms on the final day, Monday, while 123 students had done so over the previous eight days.

At an afternoon briefing, Chief Returning Officer Prof Mohammad Jasim Uddin shared the details.

In total, 1,226 students have applied across hall student union posts.

Tuesday marks the final day for submitting nomination forms, after which the number of candidates for each post will be confirmed.

According to the schedule, withdrawal of nominations ends on Aug 25, final candidate lists will be published on Aug 26, and voting is set for Sept 9.

Jasim Uddin said all candidates are legitimate university students and none submitted forms under any political party banner.

“If any candidate appears on the criminal record before voting day, they can be disqualified,” he added.
