The Election Commission (EC) for the Dhaka University Central Students’ Union (DUCSU) polls says that it is investigating allegations that ballot papers were printed in the Nilkhet area under unsecure circumstances.

Returning Officer Mohammad Jasim Uddin made the announcement in a press release issued on Thursday night.

The statement said the commission “is monitoring [the allegations] and investigating with utmost seriousness” and the process is under way.

The EC is treating all complaints and inquiries into the polls with the utmost importance. Written responses have been issued on 15 complaints and inquiries under Article 69 of the DUCSU Constitution on Thursday, it said.

The remaining complaints and inquiries will be answered in order, it added.

The statement said the EC will address issues raised over the elections at a press conference soon.
