The University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh and ActionAid Bangladesh have signed a Memoranda of Understanding to strengthen educational opportunities and community engagement over the next five years.
Initiatives under the partnership include a full annual scholarship from ULAB for an ActionAid student, biannual visits for ActionAid students, and collaboration on internships and job placements.
The MoU was signed at the ULAB campus on Sunday.
The signatories from ULAB were Prof Imran Rahman, vice chancellor, and Prof Jude William Genilo, pro vice chancellor. From ActionAid Bangladesh, the agreement was signed by Farah Kabir, executive director, and Morium Nesa, manager of women’s rights and gender equity.
Also in attendance were Shams Muzaddid, ActionAid Bangladesh manager for programme and partnership development, and ULAB’s Lt Col Md Foyzul Islam, the registrar, Mohammad Zamal Uddin Bhuiyan, joint registrar and head of admissions, and Jennifer Hossain, consultant of international affairs, who joined virtually from Portugal.
