Bangladesh is set to hold BTKG Expo 2026, a large-scale international exhibition focused on the garment and textile sector.

“The event is designed to serve as a global platform where manufacturers, technology providers, buyers, and industry professionals from around the world can come together to build connections, exchange ideas, and explore new business opportunities,” the organisers said in a press release on Thursday.

The four-day expo, set to run from Apr 29 to Mar 2 will be jointly organised by the Bangladesh Knitwear Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BKMEA) and Inforchain Digital Technology Co., Ltd. at International Convention City Bashundhara (ICCB). It will gather together key stakeholders from across the global textile and garment industry under one roof.

“The exhibition will host more than 1,000 exhibitors from around 30 countries, showcasing their latest technologies, products, and innovations. The event will include over 1,300 booths spread across eight exhibition halls, covering an exhibition area of approximately 23,000 square metres. This large-scale arrangement reflects the growing global interest in Bangladesh’s textile and apparel sector,” the organisers said.

The readymade garments industry has long been the backbone of Bangladesh’s economy, contributing around 12-13 percent of national FDP and employing over 4 million workers. The country is also recognised as the second largest apparel exporter in the world.

“BTKG Expo 2026 is expected to play an important role in advancing Bangladesh’s garments and textile industry by providing a global platform for innovation, technology exchange, and business collaboration. Through the participation of international manufacturers, technology suppliers, and industry experts, the exhibition will introduce local manufacturers to cutting-edge production solutions, modern machinery, and the latest global trends. This exposure will enable Bangladeshi companies to adopt new technologies, improve production efficiency, and strengthen their competitiveness in the global market. In addition, the expo will create opportunities for networking and joint ventures with international buyers, suppliers, and investors, ultimately supporting the continued growth and global positioning of Bangladesh’s apparel industry,” the press release said.

Organisers say a wide range of machinery and technological solutions related to the textile and garment value chain will be showcased at the event. These include textile machinery, accessories for textile machinery, chemicals and dyes, felting needles, knitting machinery, looms, steaming machinery, textile screen printing machinery, winding machinery, auxiliary equipment, bleaching and washing machinery, cloth processing machinery and accessories, embroidery equipment, inspecting, measuring and folding machinery, laundry equipment, spinning machinery and accessories, testing equipment and controls, weaving machinery and accessories, yarn processing machinery and accessories, apparel machinery and accessories, knives and scissors, grinding machines, ironing and steaming equipment, laundry machines and accessories, cutting and laying machines, garment accessories, sewing machines and parts (industrial and household), and dry-cleaning equipment.

They say BTKG Expo 2026 will not only strengthen Bangladesh’s position as a global apparel manufacturing hub but will also open new avenues for technological advancement, investment, and international collaboration within the textile and garment industry.
