The event highlights the importance of integrity and governance in building sustainable organisations and societies

The United Nations Global Compact Network Bangladesh has celebrated its third “Integrity Day”, under the theme “Sustaining Integrity for a Resilient Future”.
The event, recently held, aimed to emphasise the importance of integrity and good governance in building sustainable organisations and societies.
A statement, issued on Monday, said it also highlighted the significance of organisational best practices in promoting integrity and ethical behaviour in the private sector.
The theme of this year’s celebration focused on facilitating meaningful dialogue, encouraging innovative solutions, advancing collective action against corruption, and strengthening collaborative efforts to maintain integrity.
The inaugural session of the 2025 Integrity Day, or Shuddhachar Dibosh, was attended by Network Representative of Global Compact Network Bangladesh Farooq Sobhan, Managing Director of ACI Logistics (Shwapno), Sabbir Hasan Nasir, National Programme Coordinator of United Nations Office of Drugs and Crime, or UNODC, Shah Mohammad Naheeaan, and Acting Managing Director of the Dhaka Stock Exchange Sattique Ahemd.
The event featured two panel discussions titled "Integrity at Every Level: Empowering Employees to be Ethical Leaders" and "The Future of Corporate Integrity: Adopting Governance Practices in a Changing World".
The first discussion included Co-Founder and Partner of ZUNOKS Consulting Zulfiqur Haider, Head of Sustainability at Urmi Group ABM Faqrul Alam, and Senior Manager of Sustainability at DBL Group Mashook Chowdhury.
The second discussion featured Chief Human Resources Officer at IDLC Finance Limited Afreen Huda, Sustainability and Value Chain Advisor at the Royal Danish Embassy in Bangladesh Ali Asraf Khan, and Supreme Court Advocate Tasnuva Shelley.
In his closing remarks, Executive Director of Global Compact Network Bangladesh Shahamin S Zaman, emphasised the urgent need for joint efforts to establish transparency, accountability, integrity, and good governance.
