Slain Maldivian medical student's family starts murder case

A murder case has been started over the death of Maldives national Raudha Athif, who was found dead in her room at the hostel of a medical college in Rajshahi.

On Monday, father Mohammad Athif lodged the case in a Rajshahi court.

His counsel Kamrul Monir said the case accuses Raudha's classmate Sirat Parveen Mahmud, an Indian national.

On Mar 29, Raudha was found hanging in her room at hostel of the Rajshahi Islami Bank Medical College Hospital.

The 20-year-old was a second year student studying for her MBBS degree.
