Rear Admiral Kazi Sarwar Hossain new Maldives envoy

The government has decided to appoint Rear Admiral Kazi Sarwar Hossain as the new High Commissioner of Bangladesh in the Maldives, the foreign ministry has said.

He will replace Rear Admiral Abdul Awal.

Hossain joined the Bangladesh Navy in 1980.

In his career, he served as the Director General of the Coast Guard.

He also served in the UN Peace Keeping Mission in Ivory Coast.

Hossain studied MBA at the University of Honolulu, US, and completed his Master’s in Science in Defence Studies from the University of Madras, India.
