“We will file an appeal against the verdict since there’s an option. We hope to get justice in the Supreme Court,” defence counsel SM Shahjahan told reporters.
The International Crime Tribunal-2 has ordered death for Kaiser after finding him guilty of crimes like murder, massacre and rape in 14 of the 16 charges against him.
“A lawyer cannot react on a verdict. The tribunal gave this verdict in its wisdom,” said the defence counsel.
A Muslim League leader in 1971, Kaiser has been given the death penalty in seven charges, imprisonment until death in three, life in prison in one and 5 to 10 years in prison in another three.
Two of the charges against him were not proven.
