JSC, JDC exam: Nahid says ‘fake question paper sells at up to Tk 300,000’

He assured that that there is no possibility of question leaks in the upcoming JSC-JDC examinations.

According to the minister, a section of unscrupulous people aim to disgrace the government by putting the education sector in a questionable state besides making some profit by selling the ‘fake’ question papers.

"There are some people who want two types of benefit," he said at a meeting with law-enforcing agencies and various ministries over the upcoming Junior School Certificate (JSC), Junior Dakhil Certificate (JDC) and equivalent exams on Wednesday.

Nahid said “it is very easy now to spread both lies and truths using modern technologies.”

"We've seen that (the leakers) are selling fake question papers because they cannot actually leak the real ones," he said.

"They (law enforcers) have caught a syndicate that is selling fake question papers.”

"The interesting thing is they are selling those question papers for Tk 5,000 to Tk 300,000. These are wrong, fake question papers," he added.

He said there was no possibility of leaking question paper in the JSC, JDC exams that are scheduled to start on Nov 1.

"The question leak scenario has changed. It can be called cheat-free examination. But little mistakes may remain which is a different thing," the minister said.

He said those selling fake question papers have been under surveillance. "A list has been made. They won't be spared," he added.

Regretting that some teachers are reported to have linked with question paper leak, he said they, along with coaching centres, were also in the law-enforcing agencies' radar.

A little over 2.4 million eighth graders are taking this year's JSC, JDC and equivalent exams scheduled to be held between Nov1 and Nov 17.

Nahid said the results would be published within 30 days.
