Mancha spokesperson Imran H Sarkar gave the call at a procession taken out from Shahbagh on Monday afternoon in protest against the murder of online activist Oyasiqur Rahman Babu.

The procession marched to Dhaka University’s TSC and went back to Shahbagh.

Miscreants hacked Babu to death in the Tejgaon industrial area on Monday morning.

Police said local residents caught two madrasa students immediately after the incident and handed them over.

The two were identified as ‘Zikrullah’, a student of a Chittagong madrasa, and ‘Ariful’, a student of Darul Ulum Madrasa in Dhaka’s Mirpur.

Babu was mainly active on the Facebook, where he used to write on religion, science, and against communalism.

This time, too, the assailants targeted the victim’s head and neck like in previous attacks on Professor Humayun Azad, blogger Ahmed Rajib Haider, AKM Shafiul Islam, and writer-blogger Avijit Roy.

Sarkar said: “All have to stand against the fanatic fundamentalist terrorists, who are committing these murders. We’re ready to build up resistance against this terrorism.”

The militants are committing these murders to seal free-thought, he said.
