Jamaat-e-Islami chief Shafiqur Rahman has called for divine intervention to extinguish the "wildfire of war" currently ravaging Iran and the wider Middle East.

In a Facebook post shared around 8pm on Saturday, the Jamaat chief offered a prayer urging the Almighty to restore stability and protect innocent lives as regional tensions escalate into open conflict.

"May Allah, in His infinite mercy, extinguish the wildfire of war spreading across Iran and the entire Middle East," he wrote.

Shafiqur prayed that all parties in the conflict could follow the teachings of the month of Ramadan — restraint, tolerance, and humanity.

He sought divine help in healing the injured and securing safe shelter for those displaced by the violence.

The Jamaat leader concluded his message by calling for a global shift away from hatred and vengeance, praying instead for a world rooted in justice and lasting peace.

The post, shared 455 times in 41 minutes, generated mixed reactions across 2,000 comments. Some social media users joined the prayer, while others reminded the Islamist leader that he should have condemned the US and Israel before seeking divine help.
