President Mohammed Shahabuddin will visit Pabna on a four-day official trip, his first to the home district since the new government took office.

Extensive preparations have been completed across the district ahead of his arrival.

On Saturday, the president will leave Dhaka for his district by helicopter, said Abul Kalam Md Lutfur Rahman, protocol officer, in a letter detailing the schedule.

The first day of the visit begins on Saturday at 12:30pm, when Shahabuddin departs from Bangabhaban to Tejgaon Helipad.

He will then fly to Pabna Cadet College grounds, where he is supposed to land.

After arriving, he will receive a guard of honour at Pabna Circuit House and spend the night there.

On Sunday morning, the president plans to visit the Arifpur Sadar graveyard to offer prayers at the graves of his parents.

Later that evening, he is scheduled to attend an exchange of views with local journalists at the Pabna Press Club.

The itinerary continues on Monday morning with a visit to the Bhabanipur Mosque in Pabna Sadar.

That evening, he will spend time at his residence near the Jubilee Tank of the town.

On Tuesday morning, he will receive a guard of honour at Pabna Circuit House before leaving for the capital.

Pabna Deputy Commissioner Shahid Mostafa has presided over several briefings to oversee the heightened security protocols.

City landmarks and arterial roads have been refurbished ahead of the visit, with residents showing great enthusiasm for the high-profile trip.
