Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has expressed her interest in sitting for talks with the coordinators of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement amid the ongoing protests across the country.
“The doors of the Gonobhaban are open,” she said. “I want to sit with the quota protesters. I want to hear what they have to say. I do not want clashes.”
She made the statement during a meeting with the Peshajibi Shomonnoy Parishad at her official residence Gonobhaban on Saturday.
University teachers were also dropped from the ‘Prottoy’ universal pension scheme following the meeting.
All of the students arrested during the protests will be released, she said.
“There will be justice for every murder.”
