3 dead, 2 injured as truck crushes autorickshaw in Mymensingh

The autorickshaw was heading towards Sherpur when it collided head-on with a truck, killing three of its passengers on the spot, say police

Three passengers on an autorickshaw have been killed after a truck ploughed into the three-wheeler in Mymensingh's Phulpur Upazila.

Two others were injured in the head-on collision, which took place on the Phulpur-Sherpur road around 9:30am on Monday, according to Abdul Hadi, the local police station chief.

The victims could not be identified immediately.

“An autorickshaw was heading towards Sherpur when it collided head-on with a truck. Three passengers on the autorickshaw died on the spot,” said Hadi.

The injured were rescued and sent to the Phulpur Upazila Health Complex, he added.
