Two former Awami League MPs arrested

But the charges against them have yet to be disclosed

Police have arrested two former members of parliament from the now-banned Awami League.

The arrests were confirmed in a statement on Monday.

The detainees are Fayzur Rahman from Brahmanbaria and Tamanna Nusrat Bubly, who held a reserved women’s seat.

However, police did not immediately provide details of where, when or under what charges they were arrested.

Deputy Commissioner Talebur Rahman said further information would be provided later.
