At least two people have been killed and 10 others injured in a collision involving three buses in Sylhet's Osmaninagar Upazila.

The accident occurred around 7am on Saturday in the Dayamir area along the Dhaka–Sylhet Highway, according to Sherpur Highway Police Station chief (OC) Md Tarikuzzaman.

Police said the crash began with a head-on collision between buses operated by Shyamoli Paribahan and Ena. A third bus, run by Unique Paribahan and travelling behind the Ena bus, then struck it from the rear.

Most of the damage was to the Shyamoli and Ena buses, while the impact shattered the glass of the Unique bus, police added.

The identities of the two people who died were not immediately known.

Fire Service personnel and local residents helped rescue the injured, who were taken to Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital for treatment.
