SSC results: Over 400,000 seek re-scrutiny of more than 1mn papers

Dhaka gets the highest number of rechecking requests

A total of 402,051 candidates have applied to have their Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and equivalent examination results re-scrutinised after failing to get the grades they expected.

The applications cover 1.06 million answer scripts, Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Dhaka Secretary SM Kamal Uddin Haider said.

Of those papers, 231,471 include practical components, bringing the total number of answer scripts for re-scrutiny to 1.29 million.

The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Dhaka received the highest number of applications among the country's education boards.

The date for publishing the revised results has not been set.

This year's pass rate stood at 62.25 percent, the lowest in 19 years, with 690,608 candidates failing overall.

Results were published on Aug 10, with the review application window opening the following day and running until Monday.

Candidates were charged Tk 150 per paper for the review.
