Hajj pilgrimage registration deadline extended to Thursday

Bangladesh has a quota of 127,198 pilgrims for Hajj, only about one-third of that number have registered so far

The registration deadline for Hajj pilgrimages has been extended to Thursday.

On Wednesday, a letter on the matter was issued from the Hajj-3 branch of the Ministry of Religious Affairs.

It says that for all concerned, including those wishing to perform Hajj in 2026, Hajj agencies, banks involved in Hajj activities, the deadline for registration of Hajj pilgrims through both government and private channels has been extended until Thursday.

The letter said those willing to perform Hajj are requested to register and confirm their pilgrimage within this period.

According to the roadmap announced by the Saudi government, the deadline for Hajj registration was set for Oct 12.

This year, Bangladesh was given a quota of 127,198 pilgrims to perform Hajj. However, as of Sunday, only about one-third of that number have registered so far.

The Ministry of Religious Affairs' Hajj management portal showed only 46,600 people had registered as of 2:30pm on Monday.

Among them, 3,686 pilgrims registered under the government Hajj management package and 41,917 under private packages.
