The body of Toufique Imrose Khalidi, the late editor-in-chief of bdnews24.com, will arrive in Bangladesh from the United Kingdom on Saturday.
His coffin will leave London on a flight on Friday evening local time. The flight is due to arrive in Bangladesh on Saturday morning, his family said.
Before his repatriation, his body will lie at the Brick Lane Jamme Masjid in London from 10:30am to 1pm on Thursday for people to pay their respects.
Funeral prayers will be held there after Zuhr prayers.
Khalidi worked at the BBC World Service in London from 2000 to 2005. Many of his former colleagues and members of the local Bangladeshi community are expected to attend the funeral prayers at the mosque.
His family will announce details of the funeral prayers and burial in Bangladesh later.
Khalidi, who was visiting London on a personal trip, suddenly fell ill last Thursday night. He was taken to St Bartholomew’s Hospital, where doctors said he had suffered a brain haemorrhage. They pronounced him dead at 2:23pm local time on Friday.
