DMP announces drive to clear Dhaka footpaths of illegal shops

The campaign will continue from Apr 1 to 5, an official notice says

The Traffic Division of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has announced an eviction drive on Wednesday to clear illegal shops and makeshift structures from the capital’s footpaths.

The operation will continue until Apr 5, aimed at easing the chronic traffic congestion and ensuring the smooth movement of pedestrians across the city.

In a media statement on Tuesday, the Traffic Division said the drive will be conducted across its eight traffic zones.

The operation is scheduled to begin in the Ramna Division and will conclude in the Gulshan Division.
