The bench of justices Sheikh Hassan Arif and Abu Taher Md Saifur Rahman dismissed their former colleague’s plea on Wednesday.

On Aug 14, a judge had felt ‘embarrassed’ to hear the plea. Arif was a member of the bench, while Abu Taher Md Saifur Rahman was the other judge.

Altaf Hossain, who served as a High Court judge for two years, is himself the plaintiff.

Earlier, Supreme Court lawyer Idrisur Rahman had separately taken the matter to court.
Hossain, along with five others, were appointed High Court judges on June 14, 2012.
Five of them, except him, were made permanent after two years.
Both pleas argue that the Chief Justice had recommended permanent posting for all six but the President dropped the petitioner without assigning any reason.
