The interim government has transferred 230 trial court judges across the country in one of the largest judicial reshuffles in recent years.

The Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs issued four separate notifications on Monday, directing the judges to relinquish their current responsibilities by Aug 28 and assume their new posts without delay.

The orders take immediate effect.

The reshuffle affects every tier of the district judiciary. It includes 41 district and sessions judges, 53 additional district and sessions judges, 40 joint district and sessions judges, and 96 judges holding the rank of senior assistant judge or assistant judge.

Officials have described the move as part of an ongoing effort to strengthen judicial administration and accelerate case management across the country.

Transfers of this scale, while not unprecedented, are relatively rare and typically aimed at reinvigorating the justice system in line with wider reform measures.
