Three people have died and four others have been injured in a head-on collision between a truck and a CNG-powered autorickshaw in Bhola’s Borhanuddin Upazila.
The accident occurred at the road adjacent to Manikarhat Bazar in the Upazila on Sunday morning, said Borhanuddin Police chief Md Moniruzzaman.
Two of the dead are Md Mizan and Riaz Uddin. Police have not yet confirmed the identity of the other.
Citing locals, officer Moniruzzaman said the CNG-powered autorickshaw was heading towards Sadar Upazila and collided with a speeding truck coming from the opposite direction.
The auto-rickshaw was severely damaged in the collision, killing three people on the spot.
Locals quickly rescued the injured and admitted them to the Borhanuddin Upazila Health Complex.
Police also said the bodies have been sent to the Bhola Sadar Hospital morgue for post-mortem examination.
