Police say several individuals have been arrested following a raid on a multi-storey building in Mymensingh city.
However, the law-enforcing agencies did not provide any information as of Monday about the arrestees in the raid conducted by RAB on Sunday midnight.
Several locals said after the raid, law-enforcing officers identified the detainees as members of the Arakan Rohingya Salvation Army (ARSA).
The raid was conducted in A block on the 10th floor of the Garden City building at Mymensingh’s Notun Bazar intersection.
Residents of the building said two women, as many children and men were whisked away from there.
No RAB official spoke to the media about the matter at the raid site and asked the press to contact the RAB headquarters in Dhaka.
Mymensingh Kotwali Model Police Station chief Shafiqul Islam Khan told bdnews24.com on Monday, “The RAB conducted a drive on Sunday and arrested some people and took them to Dhaka.
"We were not informed about the matter at the time. Now we have been contacted from Dhaka.
“A case may be filed, but we do not know how many people have been arrested or any other details."
Locals told journalists a large number of RAB members gathered in front of the building around 1:45am.
Around 2:45am, they broke down a flat's door and took the detainees away.
