Palestinian Ambassador to Bangladesh Yousef SY Ramadan has met with BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia at her residence in Dhaka’s Gulshan.
The envoy arrived at Khaleda’s residence, “Feroza”, around 8:30pm on Tuesday.
During the 45-minute meeting, Khaleda expressed her sympathy for the women and children of Gaza facing unbearable suffering under Israeli aggression.
The ambassador exchanged pleasantries with the BNP chief.
The chairperson’s Advisory Council member Enamul Haque Chowdhury and her private secretary ABM Abdus Sattar were also present.
“The ambassador came to meet the BNP chairperson. He enquired about [Khaleda’s] health and prayed for her complete recovery,” Enamul told bdnews24.com.

“She asked the ambassador about the situation in Palestine and Gaza. She urged the United Nations, the OIC and the peace-loving world to immediately stop Israel’s destructive plans to occupy Gaza and forcibly displace the Palestinian people.
“She expressed solidarity with the thousands of Palestinian women and children who are going through unbearable hardship,” he added.
Ambassador Ramadan recalled with gratitude that late president Ziaur Rahman had provided land for the Palestinian Embassy in Gulshan, while Khaleda herself had donated funds in 1991 for the construction of its building.
He also referred to the close friendship between Zia and the late Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat, Enamul noted.
