Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has arrived in Jashore to begin a packed schedule of official engagements.

He reached Jashore Airport at 10:15am on Monday via a scheduled Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight, according to his Additional Press Secretary Atiqur Rahman Rumon.

From the airport, the prime minister will head to the Circuit House before inaugurating several programmes, including the re-excavation of the Ulshi canal, Rumon added.

State Minister for Power and Energy Aninda Islam Amit, State Minister for Local Government Mir Shahe Alam, and senior civil servants received Tarique upon his arrival at the terminal.

The premier’s itinerary features the launch of the Ulshi canal project in Sharsha, participation in a civic gathering, and laying the foundation stone for the Jashore Medical College Hospital.

He is also scheduled to attend a public rally at the Jashore Central Eidgah Maidan later in the afternoon.

The press aide said the prime minister will fly back to Dhaka in the evening once his scheduled activities in the district conclude.
