A coach of the “Titas Commuter” train has derailed in Brahmanbaria’s Ashuganj Upazila, disrupting services on the down line.

Brahmanbaria Railway Station Master Nazmul Hossain said the train, which had departed from Dhaka, met with the accident near the Upazila’s Talshahar station around 12:30pm on Thursday.

He said the Akhaura loco shed had been informed to recover the coach.

Brahmanbaria Railway Police Outpost chief Rafiqul Islam later said a wheel of the Titas Commuter's “D” carriage derailed.

He added that around 2pm, the rescue loco shed from Akhaura went to the scene, removed the derailed carriage, and proceeded toward Brahmanbaria with the remaining coaches.

The railway police officer, however, noted that train service is normal on the up line.
