Bangladesh missions in six Middle East countries have issued urgent safety advisories for expatriates to remain vigilant and stay away from military installations as the US and Israel attack Iran and Tehran retaliates.

The embassies in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Lebanon, Qatar, Iraq, Kuwait, and Bahrain issued separate notices on Saturday, urging citizens to prioritise their safety as regional tensions reached a boiling point.

The advisories follow reports that a Bangladeshi worker was injured during a drone attack at Kuwait International Airport.

The incident occurred as Iran reportedly began targeting locations housing US military assets in response to joint US and Israeli strikes on Iranian territory earlier on Saturday morning.

The embassies advised expatriates to strictly avoid military bases and conflict-prone areas, remain indoors or in designated safe locations unless travel is absolutely necessary.

The missions also urged Bangladeshi citizens to maintain regular contact with the respective embassies while closely following local security updates.

The missions have also activated 24/7 emergency hotlines.

Citizens facing difficulties or requiring immediate assistance are urged to contact their nearest embassy or consulate.
