Jessore, July 29 (bdnews24.com) – A leader of an organisation representing martyrs in the 1971 war has filed a law suit against three senior BNP leaders, accusing them of threatening prime minister Sheikh Hasina with dire consequences.
Mishiar Rahman, chairman of the central committee of '71 Shaheed Muktijoddha Projonmo Parishad, on Thursday filed the case against Moudud Ahmed, Shah Moazzem Hossain and Rafiqul Islam with the Jessore's Judicial Magistrate's Court.
He also requested the law-enforcement authorities to arrest them immediately as their recent inflammatory statements could put her life in danger.
According to the case, the accused, at a protest meeting at Muktangon on July 25, reportedly said that Hasina, also Awami League president, would face the same fate as her father.
Mashiar claimed he heard the inflammatory speeches targeting the prime minister himself as he was present at the Muktangan meeting.
Magistrate Abdullah Al Mamun accepted the case and will hear it on Aug 19.
