Fatema Tuz Zohra, the mother of July Uprising martyr Abdullah Bin Jahid, has met Prime Minister Tarique Rahman.
She was accompanied at the meeting by her son Jishan, who is suffering from cancer.
Deputy Press Secretary Md Suzauddhowla said that the meeting took place on Tuesday afternoon at the Prime Minister's Office in the parliament building.
“The prime minister asked after Jishan’s health. His mother shared their problems with the prime minister. The prime minister gave assurances of providing a job.”
“Fatema’s eldest son, Abdullah Bin Jahid, was shot and martyred on the night of Aug 5, 2024. Just two weeks later, she learned that her younger son, Mahmudullah Bin Jishan, was suffering from cancer. Seven months after that, she lost her husband as well, the deputy press secretary said.

“Fatema was left utterly helpless after losing her husband and child. At that time, BNP chairman—and current prime minister—Tarique Rahman stepped forward to support the destitute family by covering the medical expenses of her child, who was suffering from cancer.”
“Since then, all of Jishan's medical treatment has been carried out under the supervision of Mr Atikur Rahman, the convener of Amra BNP Paribar. Arrangements for Jishan's ongoing treatment are still being managed through the organisation."
Agriculturist Moksedul Momin Mithun, member secretary of Amra BNP Paribar, was present during the meeting.
