Bangladesh records 3 dengue deaths, 251 hospital admissions in a day

Another 199 patients recover as this year's total admissions exceed 7,500

Dengue continues to take its toll in Bangladesh, with three more deaths and 251 hospital admissions logged in the past 24 hours, raising the year's count to 22.

The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), in its Wednesday bulletin, said Dhaka's two city corporations logged 57 dengue admissions over the day -- 24 in the north, 33 in the south.

Elsewhere, Barishal Division recorded 66 admissions, Chattogram and Khulna divisions 40 each, the rest of Dhaka Division 19, Mymensingh 15, Rajshahi 12 and Sylhet two.

A total of 199 patients were discharged after recovery over the same period.

Since Jan 1, a total of 7,557 people have been hospitalised with dengue, of whom 6,875 have recovered and been discharged.
