Biman Bangladesh Airlines is increasing the frequency of its flights from Dhaka to Canada's Toronto.
These flights will start running from Oct 31, the national carrier said in a press release on Wednesday.
An additional Thursday flight on the Dhaka-Toronto-Dhaka route will be added to the winter schedule, the statement said.
This means that, from Oct 31, Biman will run three flights on the route each week – one on Saturday, one on Tuesday, and one on Thursday.
Currently, one flight runs on Tuesday, while the other runs on Saturday.
Sales of tickets for these flights have opened at all of Biman’s ticket sales and distribution channels.
There will be a special discount offer for flights on Oct 31 as well, Biman said. The aircraft on the route will be the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, which the national carrier says uses ‘state-of-the-art technology’.
Travellers will be able to purchase tickets through Biman’s commercial website, its mobile apps, the call centre at 13636, at Biman’s sales centres, and Biman approved travel agencies.
Biman operated the first test flight on the Dhaka-Toronto route on Mar 26, 2022 after spending nearly Tk 40 million for it.
The national carrier then began operating commercial flights on the route from Jul 26 of that year.
