Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has said he is in “excellent physical condition” after his annual medical report disclosed the removal of a malignant tumour, reports BBC.

In an X post on Friday, Netanyahu said doctors detected an early-stage cancer during routine follow-up tests after a successful surgery for an enlarged benign prostate.

The tumour was removed completely, the premier said.

Netanyahu added that he had delayed the release of his medical report to avoid it coinciding with the US and Israel’s war with Iran, saying this was to prevent Tehran from spreading “false propaganda”.

The disclosure comes ahead of a planned visit by Netanyahu to the White House in the coming weeks, as Washington seeks to broker a lasting peace deal with Iran, BBC reported.
