Dhaka, June 17 (BDNEWS)- India beat Pakistan 1-0 in the second game of the best of three football series.
India now lead the series 1-0 after drawing the first game, but more would have been expected considering India are ranked almost 40 places above Pakistan, according to am message debt in Dhaka.
Some inspired defending from the Pakistanis in the first game in Quetta seemed to have given them the confidence to take the game to their visitors.
India's forwards, who seemed to have left their scoring boots at home, failed to make the most of the opportunities that came their way.
The breakthrough for India finally came in the 22nd minute of the second half. Abdul Hakim converted easily enough since the Pakistani defence was missing altogether.
Pakistan launched one last attack in the final minutes, but India held on for the 1-0 win. The third game will be played in Lahore on Sunday.
