BSJA accords reception to Usha

The Bangladesh Sports Journalists Association (BSJA) Sunday accorded a reception to hat-trick Premier Hockey League title triumphant Usha Krira Chakra at National Sports Council.

Dhaka, July 6 (bdnews24.com) – The Bangladesh Sports Journalists Association (BSJA) Sunday accorded a reception to hat-trick Premier Hockey League title triumphant Usha Krira Chakra at National Sports Council.
The Old Dhaka outfit, Usha, beat Abahani Limited this season to clinch the 10-team title thrice in a row.
The BSJA also awarded prizes to league best player, Usha Krira Chakra striker Jahidul Islam Rajon, the highest scorer, Abahani defender Mamunur Rahman Chayan, and three emerging players, Mohammedan goalkeeper Mehrab Hossain Kiran, striker Syed Al Masum and Sonali Bank playmaker Krishna Kumar.
Chief guest Kutubuddin, Bangladesh Olympic Association secretary general, promised the BOA would try to fulfil clubs' demand for the installation of floodlight at the Moulana Bhasani National Hockey Stadium.
He praised Usha's players and officials for league championship, putting behind giants Abahani Limited and Mohammedan Sporting Club.
The BOA secretary general said that they would always assist hockey in a bid to restore its glorious past.
Bangladesh Hockey Federation vice presidents Shahriar Hossain, Khandakar Jamiluddin, general secretary Sajed AA Adel, former vice president Pratap Sankar Hazra, former general secretary Shamsul Bari, Usha Krira Chakra general secretary Rashid Sikder, BSJA president Manjurul Haq and its general secretary Syed Mamun were among others present.
