The Bangladesh basketball team won the South Asian Basketball Championship beating the Maldives on Wednesday.

The hosts beat the islanders 20-9 in the last match of the competition at the Dhanmondi Basketball Gymnasium to become undefeated champions.
Sri Lanka finished second in the five-team South Asian Basketball Association competition while Nepal came out third, Bhutan fourth and the Maldives last.
The inaugural SABA 3×3 Men’s Basketball Championship was played within one half of the court.
The championship was played in round-robin format.
The hosts had won all three matches the day before beating Bhutan 22-9, Sri Lanka 20-9 and Nepal 20-18.
