Shirin, the fastest woman of the country, had announced before the Games that she wanted to improve on her personal best (11.99s).
But on Friday, she clocked 12.99s.
Hafsatu Kamara (12.24s) of Sierra Leone finished first and Fiji's Sisila Seavula (12.34s) followed in second to go through to the next phase.
However, Bangladesh swimmer Mahfizur Rahman did improve on his personal best (24.02s) in 50-metre freestyle at the Olympics when he clocked 23.92s.
Among other Bangladeshi athletes, archer Shyamoli Roy and shooter Abdullah Hel Baki have already been eliminated from their events.
