Bangladesh have beaten India comprehensively in the opening match of AFC Under-14 Girls Regional (South and Central) Championship.

A brace from Tahura Khatun and a Maria Manda strike helped the defending champions seal a 3-1 victory in the Group B match at Aviator Stadium in Dushanbe, Tajikistan on Tuesday.
Tahura put Bangladesh ahead in the 34th minute. Maria doubled the lead three minutes before the break.
Tahura hit the target again at the start of the second half to put Bangladesh in command.
Sushmita Jadhav then pulled one back for India in the 49th minute to raise hopes of a fightback but Bangladesh defended resolutely to launch their campaign in style.
On their way to the title in the last edition, Bangladesh were held to a draw by India in the group stage. They went on to beat Nepal 1-0 in the final.
Bangladesh will face Nepal in the second match at the same venue on Thursday.
