Liverpool have rejected a £58.6 million opening bid from Bayern Munich for Colombian forward Luis Diaz, BBC Sport reports.
The Bundesliga champion approached Liverpool earlier this month but were told the forward was not for sale.
That position was held up on Tuesday as the Reds turned down the German giants first bid for the 28-year-old.
The Premier League winner value Diaz, whose contract expires in the summer of 2027, in excess of £87 million as a key member of Arne Slot's squad.
He scored 22 goals for club and country last season, with 13 of those in the Premier League as Liverpool secured the title by 10 points.
Manchester City expressed interest in Diaz last summer, and he also has admirers in Saudi Arabia.
Liverpool are in the market for a striker and are known to have solid interest in Newcastle's Sweden international Alexander Isak.
