Barcelona's return to their iconic home, Camp Nou, has been delayed over licensing issues related to the stadium's reopening, the ESPN reports.

On Friday, the club announced that the Joan Gamper Trophy match against Italian side Como will be played at the Estadi Johan Cruyff instead of taking place at the originally-planned venue Camp Nou.

ESPN quoted the club as saying, "Necessary work to comply with the requirements of the Ordinance Regulating Municipal Intervention Procedures in Construction Works has made it impossible to complete the procedures required for the granting of the initial licence."

The Johan Cruyff stadium, where Barça will host the Gamper Trophy on Aug 10, only has a capacity of 6,000.

For the last two seasons, the Blaugrana played at the Olympic Stadium as Camp Nou went under renovation.
