Gulshan Youth Club to host 'ULLASH' sportsfest in October

The event will bring more than 1,000 athletes from 21 clubs together for nine days of competition

Gulshan Youth Club has announced the dates for its Inter Club Sportsfest "ULLASH" 2026, Season 2.

The festival is set to be held from Oct 30 to Nov 7, with the schedule formally unveiled at a coordination meeting at the Sheraton Dhaka hotel, the club said in a statement.

It will feature 14 sporting events, including 100-ball cricket, badminton, basketball, chess, seven-a-side football, golf, 8-ball pool, padel ball, swimming, table tennis, tennis, quiz, marathon and arm wrestling.

A total of 21 clubs are set to take part, with more than 1,000 athletes likely to compete.

The event was attended by Gulshan Youth Club President Wahiduzzaman (Tamal), along with Mehadi Hasan, secretary general and chairman of the "ULLASH 2026" Organising Committee.

Also present were organising committee Vice-Chairmen Iftekhar Rahman, Iffat Ambarin (Joya) and Ameer Ali Mustafa, alongside Fuad Bin Sajjad, coordinator for sports, and Ajoy Kumer Kundu, coordinator for press, media and marketing.

Chief coordinators and office coordinators from the participating clubs, as well as convenors and co-convenors of the "ULLASH" 2026 committee, attended the meeting as well.

Wahiduzzaman thanked all participating clubs and athletes for their enthusiasm in backing the tournament, adding that their support had helped shape the previous edition into a memorable event.

He extended his gratitude to everyone involved for their sportsmanship and continued cooperation.

Hasan, in turn, thanked the participating clubs for their cooperation and voiced confidence that the festival would deliver a memorable experience for athletes and sports fans alike, while strengthening ties and healthy competition among the clubs involved.
