Dhaka, Feb 24 (bdnews24.com) – A special court Sunday ordered the arrest of former state minister Shahjahan Omar for submitting a flawed wealth statement to the Anticorruption Commission.
Omar's wife Mezabin Farjana, and son Adnan Omar, were included on the same warrant.
According to case details, the accused allegedly concealed information on property worth Tk 46.18 lakh in the wealth statement they submitted to the ACC on June 20.
In addition to this, the accused allegedly earned property worth Tk 2.06 crore through undeclared sources.
Judge Md Azizul Huq of Dhaka Senior Special Judge's Court issued the warrant.
A chargesheet against the three was submitted on Feb 20.
The judge asked law-enforcement agencies to submit their reports on the warrant on March 2.
ACC assistant director Sheikh Mesbah Uddin filed the case with Gulshan Police Station on Sept 27 last year.
