JS adopts obituary reference at the death of Khurshid Jahan Haque

Jatiya Sangsad Wednesday adopted an obituary reference over the death of Khurshid Jahan Haque, Women and Children affairs minister and elder sister of Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia.

Dhaka, June 14 (BDNEWS) – Jatiya Sangsad Wednesday adopted an obituary reference over the death of Khurshid Jahan Haque, Women and Children affairs minister and elder sister of Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia.
As per the tradition of the parliament, the session was adjourned for a day after adopting the obituary reference over the death of BNP lawmaker Khurshid Jahan Haque having discussion on it.
The JS session will resume at 5:15 pm Thursday.
The JS session began Wednesday afternoon with acting Speaker Akhter Hamid Khan Siddiqui in the chair.
Later, the Speaker himself placed the obituary reference before the Jatiya Sangsad.
LGRD & Cooperatives minister Abdul Mannan Bhuiyan, health minister Dr Khandokar Mosharraf Hossain, Law minister Barrister Moudud Ahmed, Post and Telecommunication minister Barrister Aminul Haque, Industries minister Matiur Rahman Nizami and 20 ministers, state ministers, deputy ministers and lawmakers of different parties participated in a discussion over the obituary reference.
One-minute silence was observed after the discussion. Later, a special munajat, conducted by Jamaat MP Abdus Subhan, was also offered.
The discussants portrayed different aspects of the colourful political career of the departed BNP leader.
